About the Pharmacy Residency Program

The PGY-1 pharmacy practice residency program provides residents with an opportunity to deliver cost-effective, evidence-based patient care in unit-based and multidisciplinary settings while honing leadership and project management skills. Upon program completion, residents will be prepared to pursue PGY-2 residency training or attain a position as a general pharmacy clinician.

THE PGY-1 PROGRAM IS A 12-MONTH LEARNING EXPERIENCE
DEDICATED TO: 
  • Improvement of the medication use process
  • Provision of evidence-based patient-centered medication therapy management in multidisciplinary settings
  • Leadership and practice management development
  • Enhancement of medication safety and therapeutic outcomes
  • Development of sustainable pharmacy practice and educational models

BENEFITS

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS  
  • Eligibility to sit for the NAPLEX and MPJE board examinations prior to the residency start date

- Three letters of recommendation

- Academic transcript *pharmacy education only
