The response from the community has been tremendous as we have far exceeded estimates in the first year serving more than 43,000 patients across all of our services, with 30,000 seen in the emergency room. “One thing that we learned in our first year is that there is clearly a need in our community for health care,” said Marsha Bond, Nurse Manager at Livingston.
Congratulations to our 160 team members at Livingston for a very successful first year. Here is the impressive summary of the numbers from the last year:
- 43,800 overall patients served at our Livingston campus
- 30,000 patients seen in the Emergency Room
- 7,300 lab procedures performed
- 1,700 prescriptions filled in the retail pharmacy
- 6,500 imaging services
First year highlights and accomplishments
Outpatient services now offered include a lab, retail pharmacy and imaging services offering CT, ultrasound, X-ray and MRI.
Physician Offices now on the campus include primary care, internal medicine, colon rectal, allergy and immunology, cardiology, surgical oncology, urology, general and bariatric surgery, ENT, orthopedics and gastrointestinal specialties.
We have premiered some of our newest technologies at the Livingston campus, making sure these services are convenient and comfortable for patients. One example is a special feature available for MRI patients who can use goggles and earphones for video entertainment as a distraction during the scan.
Livingston’s campus is also serving the community outside of healthcare providing community education on smoking cessation and health education topics as well as hosting community events like veteran support groups. When people come to use the community room, they learn about the many medical services offered beyond the free-standing Emergency Room.
Another key accomplishment in our first year in Livingston is our integration into the community. Team members have bonded with each other and the community they serve. We hear story after story from neighbors and residents of how grateful they are for a location that institutes Our Lady of the Lake’s high quality of services now close to them.
Team Member Family
From ER staff, to maintenance, to imaging, Livingston’s 160 employees have grown to become like a family. Many of the team members are local and plugged into Livingston Parish. The commitment of the team members is proven through low employee turnover and positive results from the Morehead team member engagement survey.
“We are very grateful for a successful first year and look forward to providing even more services and jobs to this growing parish and extending our Spirit of Healing to the communities in need,” said Sybil Cotten, administrator of Our Lady of the Lake Livingston. “As we continue to earn more certifications, add more physician offices and outpatient services, our focus will always remain on our mission and serving our team members and the community.”
Thank you to our leadership and team members for the hard work and dedication to establish our Livingston Campus and extend the healing ministry of Jesus Christ.
