A Prayer for Healing and Peace in Remembrance of 9/11 09/11/2012
Dear Heavenly Father,
The memories of September 11, 2001, are painful and some of the wounds may never heal. We pray You will help all Americans to live for truth, firm in the hope of salvation, open to Your love. Help us live according to Your Will, Lord, to be an example to the world.
We pray that America may grow closer to You each day. Help us to take the comfort and strength You have poured into our lives and use that to give comfort and strength to others throughout the world.
We pray for the souls of those who died on 9-11. Comfort their families and all who grieve.
Help us to never stop believing in Your great love. Lord, heal all those who are crushed and broken. May they come to experience your presence and know Your peace.
We pray also, Lord, for the perpetrators of the violence on 9-11. We ask You to awaken in them a love for You and for all of creation. Heal them from any hatred, Lord. Grant them your mercy. We ask all this in Jesus’ name, Amen.
