OLOL Breaks Ground on the LSU Medical Education and Innovation Center 07/12/2012
OLOL broke ground Tuesday, July 10th on the LSU Medical Education and Innovation Center, the new four-story, 35,000 square foot building, which will accommodate more than 250 residents and 350 medical students annually who will rotate through clinical experiences at OLOL. The building will include classrooms, simulation and research labs, and faculty offices.
This is an exciting time for OLOL and our region. The collaboration between OLOL and LSU means a unique opportunity to strengthen physician training and expand the footprint of academic medicine for Baton Rouge, making our community a destination for physician training, medical care and research.
Due to the weather, key stakeholders participated in a symbolic “groundbreaking” of the new LSU Medical Education and Innovation Center during a ceremony in Our Lady of the Lake's Auditorium.
