Going Home

Discharge time for Our Lady of the Lake patients is 11 am.

Once you have been discharged from the hospital, a nurse will take you to the front entrance, where a friend or family member can pick you up at the Patient Discharge area. Patient Discharge is located at the covered hospital entrance on Hennessy, across from the cashier's office in the main lobby.

You can pick up your valuables from the Cashier's Office with a receipt during normal cashier office hours.

You may be given discharge instructions by your nurse or doctor. Please make sure you or a family member understands these instructions completely. They are important to your continued recovery.

You may receive a questionnaire at home after your stay at Our Lady of the Lake. Please give us your candid evaluation. There is extra space for your honest comments and suggestions, and return postage has been pre-paid as an added convenience. Your feedback is important to us.

Post-Op Instructions
Following doctor's orders after surgery is one of the most important steps in your healing process. Be sure to bring any questions you have to your doctor or nurse so that you can participate in your own recovery.

Medications to be Taken at Home
Taking the proper types and doses of medicine will help your body heal. Please take time to ask your doctor, nurse or pharmacist any questions you have about medications. If you're unsure about whether to take certain medicines, follow the "better safe than sorry" rule and check in with a healthcare professional before potentially putting your health at risk.
