Geriatric Behavioral Center
The Geriatric Behavioral Center is a highly specialized inpatient program designed to address the psychological and physical needs of older adults. When acute and stressful changes occur in older adults that prohibit them and their family from coping in a healthy manner, this comprehensive program provides a caring environment to assist in making significant steps toward recovery.
Admission Criteria
The Geriatric Behavioral Center admits patients 60 years or older who are suffering from one or more of the following:
Under special circumstances, those between the ages of 50 and 59 may be considered for admission.

Team Approach to Quality Care
We offer a multidisciplinary treatment approach through our team of psychiatrists, licensed social workers, registered nurses, spirituality counselors, activity therapists, physical therapists and nutritionists, which helps to improve successful treatment outcomes.
The inpatient treatment staff focuses on the following common goals for patients:
- Complete assessment and crisis intervention process
- Reduction and stabilization of symptoms prompting hospitalization
- Referrals to less intensive levels of care, if appropriate
- Family education
- Aftercare planning and assistance
Through individualized treatment, education and support, our staff helps enhance the quality of life for our patients and provides peace of mind to loved ones and caregivers.
