Opened in 1983, the Tau Center has earned a reputation in the
Baton Rouge community for restoring lives and renewing families through the
12-step philosophy of Alcoholics Anonymous. The Tau Center's services
include:

Inpatient and intensive outpatient treatment options are
available, depending on individual need. The inpatient program includes medical
management of detoxification along with education and individual, group and
family therapy in a safe, structured environment. In addition to substance
abuse, treatment is inclusive of compulsive gambling, co-dependency and other
addictive behaviors. The average inpatient stay is from three to six days.
Offered three nights a week from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., the
Intensive Outpatient Chemical Dependency Program allows individuals the
flexibility to return to work, school or home while still attending the program. Treatment spans from five to seven weeks to allow time for individuals to build the necessary support systems for a successful recovery.
