Your Partner for Building a Better Stronger Louisiana

Our Lady of the Lake commissioned an Economic Impact Study from the national specialty firm Tripp Umbach. The Tripp Umbach analysis indicates that, in addition to providing high quality care, Our Lady of the Lake is positioned to lower the overall cost of healthcare while driving the state's economy.

In 2010, Our Lady of the Lake generated $928.6 million within the Louisiana economy, including $403.7 million of in-state spending by the hospital, employees and visitors. The ripple effect supported more than $524.8 million in additional economic activity generated by the operations of other organizations, businesses and vendors in the state that support Our Lady of the Lake. That's a total economic impact of nearly $1 billion in 2010 alone.

OLOL supported 8,186 full-time jobs in the state of Louisiana in 2010, including more than 4,308 full-time equivalent (FTE) positions employed by the Lake. Roughly one in every 275 workers statewide work directly or indirectly for Our Lady of the Lake. These full time positions include not only direct employment by the hospital but also indirect jobs created for supply and equipment vendors, contractors and laborers for the construction and renovation of facilities, and jobs created in the community at hotels, restaurants, and retail stores in support of Our Lady of the Lake's workforce and its visitors.
